April 2008

The children are enjoying the transformation from Winter to the beauty of Spring.  Pumpkin Patch has many activities planned for the month of April that will incorporate the changing of the season.

The Week of the Young Child will be celebrated April 14th through April 18th.  Monday will be Art Day, Tuesday is Friendship Day, Wednesday is Science Day, Thursday is International Day, and Friday will be Carnival Day.

This month the waddlers will have rain and water activities. They will be learning about baby animals born in the spring.  Waddlers and toddlers will be learning the color purple.  Toddlers will be doing indoor gardening, studying insects and learning about ovals.  Their number will be the number eight.
Preschoolers will learn indoor gardening, insects, recycling, ecology and celebrate Earth Day.  Threes will learn front and back.  Fours will learn about time.

The public School Vacation is April 21st through the 25th.

Parent-Teacher conferences are scheduled for this month.  Your child’s individual development will be discussed.   An assessment will be given to parents on Benchmarks in the areas of social, cognitive, large and small motor skills, and creativity.  The children will recognize Passover with a story and activity depicting the Seder meal.

Summer Camp is around the corner so don’t forget to sign up for our Camp Program as space is limited in all centers and fills up quickly.
