Parents News & Notes
January 2012
As we ring in the New Year, Pumpkin Patch wishes you and your family a very happy and healthy New Year!!
2011 was both a challenging and rewarding year. The recession brought many families closer together. We all learned that we could all do more with less. Another lesson we learned is that the most important thing in life is FAMILY. We want you to know how much Pumpkin Patch and all of our staff truly appreciates the opportunity to help develop your children and work with all of you towards this mutual goal.
The Infants and Toddlers have now started the second half of the Pinnacle Curriculum and will be learning shapes, colors, textures, and the world in which they live.
Preschoolers are learning how to read, count, add and subtract while using both the Pinnacle and Exceed Curriculums. It is amazing to see and observe how much they have learned.
Special Events this month will include…
Martin Luther King Day on Monday, January 16th. We will be celebrating his birthday with a social study activity with the children. See your Center Manager for more information.
This month at Pumpkin Patch, we will be having Occupation Week beginning Monday, January 23rd. During occupation week, parents come in and share with students what they do for a living and what their jobs are like. In previous years, we have had firefighters, doctors, EMTs and cooks (just to name a few). If you are interested in sharing your occupation with our children, please speak with your Pumpkin Patch Center Manager. We look forward to hearing all about you!
We will also be continuing our “Adopt a Soldier” program this month! Each Center will maintain contact with their deployed soldier by writing letters and sending pictures & goodies. Anyone interested in learning about your soldier and/or donating goodies please see your Center Manager for a list of appropriate items.
Reminder: The deadline for flu shots for all children from age 6-59 months was January 1st. If you have not done so, please provide a copy to your Pumpkin Patch Manager of the doctor’s notice that they have had their shot.
Don’t forget appropriate SNOW CLOTHES for your children and please make sure they are marked with your child’s name.
In the event Mother Nature decides to grace us with lots of snow or ice, please tune to Channel 3, Channel 8, Channel 30 or WTIC radio for closing information.
Everyone at Pumpkin Patch wishes you all a very Happy New Year! May it bring you health, happiness, prosperity, and peace!
Warmest Wishes,
Your Pumpkin Patch Staff
